National Seating & Mobility (NSM) announces its acquisition of SelfCare Home Health Products Ltd, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia.
This is NSM’s first acquisition in Canada and its first location outside the United States, and marks its entrance into the international market, according to a media release.
“This acquisition supports our mission to reach more individuals in need of mobility solutions,” says Bill Mixon, CEO of the Franklin, Tenn-based provider of complex rehabilitation, mobility and accessibility solutions, in the release.
“We look forward to collaborating with our Canadian team to learn from each other and create operational synergies that benefit our clients and business processes.”
SelfCare is a multi-site mobility equipment and home accessibility services provider serving the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. The company has been owned and operated by Darryl and Kim Mackie since its inception in 1993, and they will remain with the company in a leadership capacity post-acquisition. SelfCare has 60 employees in four locations, with a fifth location planned for 2019, the release continues.
“Investing in locations outside the US not only allows us to reach more clients, but also fuels continued progress in the CRT industry, both here in the US and worldwide,” Mixon adds. “We are proud to welcome this company to the growing NSM family.”
