laohLos Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital (LAOH) specialists, currently providing all orthopaedic care at Mattel Children’s Hospital, have been distinguished as one of the nation’s top pediatric orthopaedic programs in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2012-2013 “Best Children’s Hospital,” according to a recent news release

The release notes that the report ranked care provided by LAOH as seventeenth on a nation scale and third in California.

Anthony Scaduto, MD, president, CEO, LAOH, executive vice chair at UCLA/Orthopaedic Hospital, department of orthopaedic surgery, articulates the organization’s pride in the ranking, adding, “Our staff members are dedicated to our mission; to provide outstanding orthopaedic care to the children we treat.”

For the 2012-2013, U.S. News & World Report reportedly surveyed 179 pediatric centers to obtain data used in the rankings. This data included availability of resources and the hospitals’ ability to prevent complications and infections.
