Invacare Corp, Elyria, Ohio, plans to join the first-of-its-kind Medical Mart project in Cleveland, Ohio, slated to open in 2013.
The Cleveland Medical Mart will be the world’s only facility targeted specifically to the medical and health care industries, according to Invacare. It will house approximately 120,000 square feet of permanent showrooms for major medical manufacturers and service providers.
Invacare will use the Medical Mart to highlight the value of home health care, the trifecta of health care: it is patient-preferred (everyone dreams of going home), has better clinical outcomes, and is more cost-effective than institutional care.
The Medical Mart is part of a larger downtown Cleveland development plan, which will also include a new tradeshow facility and conference center.
