Convaid Inc, headquartered in Torrance, Calif, recently announced that it has extended its seat growth range to include all its 14 wheelchair models. According to a Convaid news release, the Safari, Scout, C2000, Clipper, C-Sport, Lite Rider, and the Activo models will now offer users at least 5 inches of seat depth growth in order to accommodate 5 years of growth.
The release notes that the seat depth extension is intended to eliminate the need for custom modification and allow users to make growth adjustments themselves. Growth can reportedly be added to the chairs by replacing the original set of seat tubes with a longer set included in the initial standard wheelchair purchase. The company reports that the Rodeo is the exception to this, as it is marketed with one tube suitable for 5 years of growth.
Convaid adds that models featuring the extended seat depth growth include Rodeo, Cruiser, Cruiser Planar, EZ Rider, EZ Rider Planar, Convertible, Convertible Planar, Safari, Scout, C2000, Clipper, C-Sport, Lite Rider, and the Activo models.
