Allied Media, a medical publishing group located in Los Angeles, California, is looking for an enthusiastic editorial intern to provide editorial support to a team of editors in a fast-paced magazine production environment.
Allied Media (www.allied360.com) publishes 11 magazines and related e-media products in the health care industry.
The candidate must have exceptional editing skills, pay meticulous attention to details and factual accuracy, be familiar with Microsoft Office, database programs, and Internet research and social platforms (Facebook and Twitter), also, experience working with a Mac is a plus. Knowledge of InDesign is helpful, but not necessary.
Class credit is available for this internship. The internship will correspond with class sessions.
Responsibilities include:
• Data input and update
• Updating online news
• Maintaining online opinion polls
• Tagging and segmenting articles
• Phone and Internet fact checking
• Writing news briefs
• Researching story leads
• Byline feature-writing opportunities
