Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Occupational Therapy professors helped guide the development of the Children’s Museum, which provides an inclusive museum experience at four locations in and around Richmond, Va., for children affected by a range of disabilities.

Museum programming and interactions were shaped with evidenced-based guidance from university staff that includes adaptive materials and an emphasis on providing an experience for children designed to minimizes the sensory load.
