GetWellNetwork, the Precision Engagement health care company, announce its acquisition of digital health company HealthLoop. The acquisition expands GetWellNetwork’s reach into nearly 700 health care providers.

The acquisition, which combines GetWellNetwork’s experience in implementing patient engagement solutions with HealthLoop’s expertise in mobile technologies and digital care management, is designed to spur growth and strategic investments.

“Adding HealthLoop to our portfolio advances our strategy to provide the most comprehensive, end-to-end digital patient and family engagement platform,” says Michael O’Neil, founder and CEO, GetWellNetwork, in a media release. “The changing nature of the how and where care is delivered requires dynamic solutions to meet modern engagement challenges. With HealthLoop as part of the GetWell portfolio, we’re excited to help health care organizations rethink and accelerate their digital strategies.”

HealthLoop is engineered to track patient progress, monitor clinical areas of concern, and automate follow-up care, helping providers, hospitals, and health systems improve patient interactions and satisfaction.

As part of the acquisition, the Mountain View, Calif-based team will join GetWellNetwork with CEO Todd Johnson continuing his leadership position. Johnson, who will report to O’Neil, will play a key role in ongoing product and sales strategy. GetWellNetwork will maintain HealthLoop’s office in Silicon Valley, where it will serve as the company’s hub for continued investment, growth, and product innovation in the consumer digital health space, the release explains.

“GetWellNetwork and HealthLoop are like-minded in strategy, values and culture. I’m thrilled to be working together to continue to push the boundaries of connected health,” Johnson says.

“Todd and his team’s contagious energy and relentless commitment to making health care better for patients shine through in HealthLoop’s solutions’ eye-popping utilization rates and improved outcomes,” O’Neil adds.

Over the next several months, the companies will jointly develop an integrated solution, GetWell Loop. The end product will tightly combine HealthLoop care pathways, remote patient monitoring, virtual check-in, and image and video evaluation capabilities with the richness of GetWell Go’s prescribable workflows and step-by-step curriculum, per the release.
