Stop No 5 of Sheckler Foundation’s Skate for a Cause Tour will take place in Minneapolis, at the 2019 Summer X Games, according to an announcement.

During the Games, Sheckler Foundation will present “Be the Change” adaptive skate recipients Wiggle Your Toes with a $10,000 grant and adaptive skate clinic on the X Games Skateboard Park course.

“This hits close to home for me. Shining light on Adaptive Skateboarders and athletes has been something I hold close to my heart – watching these guys and girls work hard and defying the odds on the daily is not only a blessing to see, but truly motivating,” says Ryan Sheckler, co-founder of the Sheckler Foundation, in a media release.

“I’m stoked to watch them crush it in Minneapolis and I couldn’t think of a better stage for them to showcase their talents to the world.”

Adaptive sports is a focus of Sheckler Foundation. At the Sheckler Foundation’s 9th Annual Skate For a Cause presented by Oakley in 2018, the family-friendly event featured the first Wheelchair Motocross (MCMX) and Adaptive Skate contest, per the release.

Founded in 2008, Sheckler Foundation was created as an avenue for Ryan Sheckler, his family, friends and business associates to give back to the community and industry. Fueled by the desire to contribute to the many causes that directly benefit and enrich the lives of children and injured action sports athletes, the Sheckler Foundation produces fundraising events, passion projects and web-based initiatives to raise capital and awareness. Its ultimate goal is to empower the community to “Be the Change.”
