Discussion began more than a month ago about the recovery curve for patients who survive COVID-19 infections. It is a complex disease that wreaks havoc on many of the body’s systems and has the potential to damage vital organs, leading to strokes and kidney failure. This recent Time article outlines why outpatient rehabilitation and nursing care can expect an influx from the post-COVID-19 population.

Survival for some of these patients will require not just excellent hospital care but also intensive outpatient and home care, in addition to a panoply of medications and procedures. Stroke sufferers may need significant rehab or even nursing home care depending on the severity of their deficit.
