Allsup, Belleville, Ill, introduces Allsup Place, a free interactive online community providing comprehensive resources, forums, and information for people with disabilities.

“Allsup Place is about empowering people,” says Paul Gada, personal financial planning director for the company’s Disability Life Planning Center. “We are focused on creating a supportive and caring environment where individuals have access to the best information available and the knowledge they need to make informed choices.”

The site offers useful resources for those who are tracking the progress of a disability claim, learning about Social Security or Medicare enrollment, seeking more information about their condition, looking for local organizations that provide support, or sharing their story with others.

Public access is available for the resource locator, which contains information about organizations and Web resources dedicated to disability-related topics, and news, including a LexisNexis newsfeed. Registered users can tap into news and resources customized to many medical conditions, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, arthritis, chronic pain, diabetes, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal disorders, and stroke.

The forum section provides an opportunity to exchange ideas, pass along tips and personal experiences, and learn from others. Gada says the aim is to foster a community of shared experiences where people can visit with others facing similar issues so everyone benefits from the collective knowledge.”

Information is provided about health care choices, including access to the Allsup Medicare Advisor program that helps individuals select the appropriate Medicare program for their needs, and a health discount program.

A demo helps familiarize visitors with the site’s features.

The company provides Social Security disability, financial, and health care-related services to people with disabilities, and has helped more than 100,000 people receive their entitled Social Security Disability Insurance and Medicare benefits.
