During a session scheduled to take place during the 2016 AABB Annual Meeting, Dr Wise Young will speak about cord blood treatments for chronic spinal cord injury.

Titled “Cord Blood Therapies as Potential Treatments for People with Chronic Spinal Cord Injury,” the session will take place October 24 from 7 am to 8:15 am EST at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Young is the founding director of the WM Keck Center for Collaborative Neuroscience. According to a media release from Mediware, Young’s research has upended the notion that spinal cord injuries are permanent. His current research focuses on using umbilical cord mononuclear cells and lithium.

The session is part of the “Share the Science” series sponsored by Mediware Information Systems Inc and Save the Cord Foundation. Attendance is free, but registration is required.

Mediware will also exhibit its software solutions for blood, cellular therapy, and document management during the AABB meeting.
