PT 2010, the annual conference and exposition of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Alexandria, Va, will be held from June 16 to 19 in Boston at the Hynes Convention Center.

Sen Tom Daschle will deliver the keynote address. Tapping his book, Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis, Daschle will spotlight health care reform strategies that form the basis of President Obama’s health care plan.

Fourteen tracks of advanced programming include hospital-based pediatrics, sports and fitness, manual therapy, tech savvy, older adults, traumatic brain injury, postsurgical rehab, ultrasound imaging, and practice management.

Two-day preconference programming, 1-day courses, and advanced clinical practice courses are also offered.

Conference participants can discover the scope of practice in pediatric rehabilitation during a tour of Children’s Hospital Boston, which was ranked as one of America’s Best Children’s Hospitals by US News and World Report in 2009.

A special event on June 19, from 10 am to 1 pm is targeted to the local community: Staying on Your Feet—How to Keep Your Balance and Prevent Falls. Older adults and their adult caregivers can learn about safety in the home and healthy aging.
