shafertnAnn Shafer has been appointed by ReDoc Software (ReDoc) as clinical product owner and design specialist. A news release from the Brentwood, Tenn-based company notes that in her new role, Shafer (pictured right) will be responsible for analyzing and designing clinical components used in current and developing software. Shafer will also assist with the planning for and conducting of beta testing processes, and will serve as a clinical liaison for the product design and development divisions of ReDoc.

Ron Reed, PTA, MSHI, CSPO, vice president product design of ReDoc Software, states that Shafer has been a strong member of the implementation team since joining the company in 2003. “Her promotion is a logical evolution, and she will be a significant addition to the product design team,” Reed says.

According to the release, Shafer previously served as director of compliance and outcomes and clinical advisor for ReDoc. Prior to joining the company, Shafer worked as a physical therapist in Nashville for Amedisys Home Health, St Thomas Health Services and Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center. The release notes that Shafer has held a range of senior-level physical therapy roles for two Chattanooga-based outpatient hospital rehab centers, Siskin Hospital for Rehabilitation and Erlanger Hospital.

The release reports that Shafer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Shafer has held a variety of leadership roles with industry associations, including the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Tennessee Physical Therapy association.

In the release, Shafer emphasizes that, “ReDoc has offered me great opportunities during my 10 years with the company, and I’m excited to begin working on new challenges that are sure to come.
