Education Resources Inc is offering an education opportunity directed at helping therapists learn more about the Goal Attainment Scale (GAS). The new course reportedly will focus on creating and showing measurable change in neuro-pediatrics.
As part of the course, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists will practice integrating the GAS and ICF model to plan treatment, implementing effective treatment strategies, and documenting measurable functional gains made using actual video cases while receiving 13 continuing education hours.
This course is taught by Kate Bain, OT/CNDT and Suzanne Davis Bombria, PT, C/NDT. Bain is reported to be the co-founder of both Children’s Therapy Services and the Kids+ Foundation in Geelong, Victoria, Australia, and is the director of Pediatric Therapy & Workshops which includes postgraduate education, clinical intensives, and research. Davis Bombria is described as a neurodevelopmental (NDT) coordinator-instructor for the intensive Basic NDT certification course in pediatrics for physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists. Davis also is reportedly mother of a child affected by cerebral palsy.
The course is scheduled to be conducted April 18, on Staten Island, NY, as well as April 24 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth, NH. Pediatric therapists may register for the course on Education Resources Inc’s website or by calling the office.
