The Senior Home Safety Specialist certification course for professionals serving seniors living at home is now available online from Age Safe America.

Its goal is to teach professionals actionable ways to better educate clients, older adults and family members on home safety, fall prevention, financial exploitation, and personal safety.

According to Age Safe America in a media release, the comprehensive 6-hour self-paced audio/visual course offers the only certificate of its kind to individuals working within the senior services industry.

The course consists of a 10-module self-study educational program with a quiz after each section that participants must pass in order to continue to the next section.

Upon course completion, participants will receive a Certificate along with a digital copy of the Senior Home Safety Specialist emblem to use on social media sites and marketing materials.

Participants are then required to take a refresher course every 2 years and to submit proof of 5 hours of community service at the time of re-certification, per the release.

“Our goal is to provide a holistic curriculum and a fresh look at many issues affecting seniors endeavoring to age safe at home,” says Steven Bailey, founder and managing director of Age Safe America LLC, in the release.
