To ensure that new employees receive a comprehensive review of fundamental and vital information relevant to their business, as well as the home medical equipment (HME) industry, HME leading experts Mary Ellen Conway, Louis Feuer, and Wayne van Halem have opted to create a new industry educational series to address these points.

The series is designed to provide participants with updates regarding key topics such as accreditation, sales, and audits, according to a recent news release. Feuer, founder of the Sunrise, Fla-based Dynamic Seminars & Consulting Inc, emphasizes that the concept stems from the primary question, “what can we do for these new people? What is the industry doing for those who have been in the industry a year or less to prepare and be successful as quickly as possible?”

The series will be available to listeners via a 1-hour teleconference webinar slated for September 5, September 19, and October 3. A fourth session is also being offered to potential attendees live at Medtrade, Atlanta, Ga, October 16, 3:30 pm EST. The fourth and final session will reportedly be repeated for those who cannot attend Medtrade on October 31 via webinar.

Feuer adds that the educational series is not a “how-to” but rather a tool intended to, “develop an awareness of the of the issues along with strategies to be successful.”

Conway, president of the Capital Healthcare Group, member of the Medtrade Educational Advisory Board echoes Feuer’s sentiments, noting that, “Outside education is sometimes brushed over or not even presented. Employers are teaching people how to do things, but not necessarily the why behind it. We can help,” Conway says.

The release reports that topics slated for discussion include an overview of the HME industry, HME operations, accreditation and policy and procedures, billing and compliance, and finally sales, marketing, and service.
