Preferred Care Partners Management Group, Plano, Tex, will deploy AccuNurse voice-assisted care in two of its managed skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities—Woodridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, Grapevine, Tex, and University Park Nursing and Rehabilitation, Des Moines, Iowa, with the remaining sites throughout its 64 managed facility enterprise to follow.
Preferred Care says the investment in voice-assisted care should propel quality of care to new levels of performance by enabling more proactive care, increasing productivity of its direct care team, and providing more time for direct resident care. By giving caregivers the ability to access resident care needs on demand, complete paperwork simply by talking, enhance care team collaboration with Silent Paging, and respond faster to resident needs, the facility expects to achieve performance and reimbursement gains, such as enabling higher levels of staff efficiency and satisfaction while increasing quality, eliminating paperwork, and achieving compliance.
The company expects to realize increased reimbursements by providing accurate, real-time information on how it is caring for residents, says Susan LupPlace, RN, director of clinical services at Preferred Care. "The other significant win is for our staff, all of whom are very excited to be using voice-assisted care to streamline their jobs."
AccuNurse voice-assisted care will enable the following processes: real-time access to information and other staff; the elimination of paper-based printouts for managing care needs and documentation; the ability for caregivers to make decisions more accurately and quickly; and the ability for the care team to multitask while documenting care, improving productivity and directing more time back to residents.
AccuNurse is from Vocollect Healthcare Systems Inc, Pittsburgh, a subsidiary of Vocollect Inc, which specializes in voice technology.
