HealthSouth Corporation announces that Patrick Darby has been appointed its executive vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary.

Darby has practiced law with Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP for 25 years, and has been a partner in the firm since January 1997. He received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law, where he was editor in chief of the Washington & Lee Law Review, a media release from HealthSouth Corporation explains.

HealthSouth President and Chief Executive Officer Jay Grinney explains in the release that in Darby’s role as general counsel, he “will manage the Company’s legal and real estate departments; play a key role in all development activities as HealthSouth continues to expand its inpatient rehabilitation, home health and hospice service lines; coordinate all legal activities associated with future capital structure initiatives; and coordinate regulatory and compliance matters of the company.”
