Paralyzed Veterans of America’s vocational experts are shown providing career guidance to veterans at a recent PAVE employment event.

Paralyzed Veterans of America launches a series of employment events offering job placement support to veterans. The first Paving Access for Veterans Employment (PAVE) event will take place February 7 in Tampa, Florida.

During the event, veterans, transitioning service members, spouses and caregivers will have the opportunity to connect with local and national employers and other resources, and PAVE counselors, and work one-on-one to identify employment opportunities and access other valuable resources and tools that will enhance their job search.

“PAVE events are a rich environment for a job opportunity,” says Leon Mallery, Air Force veteran and PAVE participant that secured a job as a result of a past PAVE event, in a media release from Paralyzed Veterans of America. “There are employers eager to spend one-on-one time with you and see if there’s a way you can fit into their organization.”

“Our goal is to help remove every possible barrier to employment and educational opportunities,” states PAVE Director Shelly Stewart, in the release. “With the right support network, information and resources, we know that our veterans are empowered to achieve their career goals, whatever those goals might be.”

The Tampa event will include interactive job-seeker workshops covering a variety of job-search tools and strategies, as well as employer networking opportunities. Featured local and national employers will also host panel discussions that are tailored to veterans’ employment needs.

Registration for the Tampa PAVE event is free and open to all veterans, transitioning service members, caregivers and spouses.
