The new M3 mid-wheel drive power wheelchair from Permobil is reportedly the first to incorporate FlexLink full suspension technology while driving from any position or seat elevation, according to the company.
“Permobil is a company built on innovation. Today we continue that tradition of innovation with the launch of the M3,” states Larry Jackson, president of Permobil North America, in a media release.
With a top speed of 6 mph, the wheelchair can cruise at more than 3 mph with full suspension from any position or seat elevation.
Additional design features include ActiveReach technology, which enables the seat to rise up to 12 inches and tilt forward up to 20 degrees; and an improved 7-inch caster design and adjustment-free flutter dampening device, enabling riders to move more confidently at low speeds, in tight areas, or while using a variety of alternative drive controls.
“The M3 represents the most comprehensive launch Permobil has ever done,” states Richard Foshee, creative manager at Permobil North America, in the release.
Andrew Kwarciak, product manager at Permobil North America, adds that a large number of demos are being shipped into the field, and the company is prepared to take, build, and ship orders starting February 20.

I don’t know about this model but I have been disapointed in the build quality and service of my Pernobil as it fell behind expectations. I’ve owned 3 previous Medicare provided chairs.
I’m 1 week away from getting my new M3 and have read some poor reviews for the m300. I hope they fixed certain problems such as squeaking base after a few months. The armrests that fling around with out a stop and being to flexible for weight shifts and transfers.
I have a permobil m300 and it was built brand new for me in September of 2011 and aside from regular maintenance I haven’t had an issue with it. My tilt back function was replaced only once about 6months ago. Over all my permobil m300 has been a great chair. By the way the the new m3 uses the same motors that r in the m300.
