During the 19th Annual CAF San Diego Triathlon Challenge Weekend slated for October 19 through October 21, a total of eight swim-bike-run relay teams comprised of Össur challenged athletes and employees will be racing across the La Jolla, Calif-based course, Össur announces in a recent news release. The release notes that team members are scheduled to swim 1 mile, bike 44 miles, and run 10 miles in an effort to raise funds for the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

Össur adds that in addition to those competing, more than 50 of its employees will also volunteer and participate in other weekend activities. The company is reportedly serving at the title sponsor of the Össur Leg Amputee Running and Mobility Clinic. As the title sponsor, the company notes that it will take an active role in hosting the Saturday morning event, led by gait expert Bob Gailey, PhD, PT, and Peter Harsch, CP, in which participants will have the opportunity to learn proper techniques and exercises designed to improve their gait and activity level.

During the clinic, participants will also reportedly receive onsite mentorship, teaching and support from Össur ambassadors Geoff Turner, Andy Balley, and Team Össur athletes Sarah Reinertsen, Blake Leeper, and Rudy Garcia-Tolson.
