The National Veteran Golden Age Games, slated to run from May 31 to June 5 will be sponsored by the Invacare Corporation, Elyria, Ohio, and held in St. Louis, MO. A recent news release reports that the Games were created to offer a wide reaching sports and recreation competition for military veterans aged 55 years or older. More than 700 veterans will travel to the Games and compete in sports that include swimming, cycling, golf, track and field, bowling, and table tennis. The release notes that there are 14 competitive events total. 

Gerry Blouch, Invacare Corporation president and CEO, adds that the company’s products are designed to allow individuals to enjoy life experiences and this goal is manifested in the military veterans competing each year at the National Veterans Golden Age Games, “It is an honor to participate in events such as this one, both as a fan and as a sponsor,” Blouch says.

According to the release, the Games’ events are open to all US military veterans aged 55 years or older currently receiving treatment at any VA medical facility.
