In honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) will host its annual United Nations Enable Film Festival (UNEFF), December 3, 2011.

The short films are chosen based upon their content and message’s ability to raise awareness of disability issues and promote participation of persons with disability in society. According to the UNEFF committee, some of the criteria for film entry and selection ask that the films be gender inclusive and highlight an emerging or overlooked disability issue, present a disability perspective in a larger societal context, present the diversity of disability, or present diverse geographic and regional settings.

For film consideration, the UNEFF committee advises participants to send information and a copy of the film.
