The Braun Corporation, Winamac, Ind, recently announced its launch of the BraunTaxi. The company adds that the new brand reflects its dedication to raising the number of accessible vehicles in the taxi fleets nationwide under the BraunTaxi and will encompass all of the company’s taxi products.
Current offerings by Braun include the side-entry and rear-entry taxi solutions for Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Caravan. The company also provides a rear-entry solution for the Toyota Sienna. To continue broadening its accessible taxi options, Braun says, it will as serve as the mobility provider for the upcoming Nissan NV200 Taxi of Tomorrow. According to a Braun news release, BraunTaxi will integrate a mobility solution for the NV200, which is set to premier in the streets of New York City, NY, by October 2013.
“Drawing on Braun’s innovation and experience in the mobility industry, we will work together to develop, engineer, and produce a creative solution for a wheelchair-accessible taxi in New York,” says Joe Castelli, vice president of commercial vehicles and fleet for Nissan North America.
As an additional component to its introduction of the new BraunTaxi brand, the Braun Corporation reports that it will participate in the upcoming New York Metro Abilities Expo, Edison, NJ, May 4 to May 6.
