Bike MS KC is celebrating its 31st ride, which is scheduled to begin September 13 at 7:00 am. A news release issued by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society states that Bike MS KC has nearly 2,000 registered participants ready to ride in the charity bike event.

Each year cyclists from all over the country converge in the Kansas City area for the annual National MS Society, Mid America Chapter event. The release notes that riders cover 36, 75, or 100 miles each day during the weekend. The 2-day ride is slated to take place throughout Kansas City and surrounding areas September 13 to 14.

“I Ride with MS” is a mission-based program that aims to celebrate participating cyclists who are living with multiple sclerosis (MS). The release states that “I Ride with MS” provides visibility to riders living with MS, personalizing the disease and connecting all cyclists, with the goal to inspire and empower them during their journeys.

Kami Sjoberg, a Kansas City local who was diagnosed in 1999, emphasizes that she rides “because I wanted to raise awareness and find a cure for MS… The Bike MS ride is a great example of what you can accomplish when you put your mind to something.”
