GF Health Products Inc (Graham-Field) announces it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Gendron Inc, a Bryan, Ohio-based designer and manufacturer of mobile patient management, specializing in bariatric beds, mobility, seating, transfer and transport for long-term care, home care, rehabilitation, and acute care.

“We are extremely excited about combining Gendron with Graham-Field to maximize our manufacturing and marketing opportunities within the acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation, and homecare markets. This acquisition will further allow Graham-Field to provide an integrated system of products to assist in the care of the bariatric patient and resident.

“The acquisition will also expand our ‘Made in USA’ Strategic Initiative and will enhance the market potential of Graham-Field’s existing Lumex, Everest&Jennings, Basic American Medical Products, Hausted and Intensa products.”

— Ken Spett, President and CEO of Graham-Field

Graham-Field’s 20-acre Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, steel fabrication complex and 7.5-acre Gwinnett County, Georgia, medical upholstery, assembly, and distribution facility will begin producing the Gendron portfolio of bariatric equipment. Graham-Field’s investments in manufacturing automation, process improvement and engineering expertise will allow it to build on the great heritage of Gendron and enhance the features and capabilities of the Gendron product line, the company notes in a media release.

“This represents Graham-Field’s fourth acquisition of a USA medical equipment manufacturer within the past eight years and is well-aligned with our growth strategies; and supports our objective to be a preferred provider of healthcare equipment,” Spett adds.
