A bed rail that blends safety during transfers, bed exits, and entries with the convenience of a bedside tray is available through the Logan, UT-based company Stander. The Independence Bed Table features an ergonomic handle to ease transfer in and out of bed and a multi-use laptop/TV tray that swivels 360 degrees.
The product also provides a pocket organizer pouch and extendable legs to offer users increased stability while standing. Stander notes that the Independence Bed Table’s height can be adjusted to accommodate any home or hospital bed and can support up to 300 pounds.
The product also includes a “Safety Strap” allowing it to be secured to any bed frame. Stander adds that while the product is intended to prevent falls out of bed, if additional fall protection is required, a full-sized bed rail should be used.
