The 2018 Adapted Sports, Recreation & Living Expo takes place Saturday, April 21, from 11 am to 4 pm at Helen Hayes Hospital, West Haverstraw, NY.

The free event, hosted by the United Spinal Association’s Hudson Valley Chapter, will showcase adapted sports and recreation opportunities, as well as a variety of products and services for individuals with disabilities, seniors, and their families and caregivers.

Brand new exhibitors for the 2018 Expo, according to a media release from Helen Hayes Hospital, include OGO Technology, producer of a self-balancing, hands-free power wheelchair; the Wheelchair Sports Federation, a competitive adapted sports resource in the New York region; and Action Track Chair, creator of a customizable all-terrain power wheelchair with tank-like tracks.

Returning exhibitors include the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, which will present a camping demo and showcase accessible outdoor activities; the Fire Mountain School of martial arts; Push to Walk; and more.

Representatives will be on-hand from companies and organizations offering auto and van conversions, wheelchairs and scooters, adapted and durable medical equipment, ramps, lifts, advocacy and law services, and more.

Representatives will also be in attendance from organizations offering adapted sports activities, such as the HHH Adapted Sports and Recreation program, which offers adapted skiing, golfing, kayaking, sailing, fishing, gardening, airsoft and more. Select adapted sports equipment will be on display and available for attendees to test-drive, the release continues.
