Sutter Rehabilitation Institute, Roseville, Calif, has received accreditation from CARF International for its programs focusing on the rehabilitation of patients with spinal cord injury and limb loss.

Sutter’s spinal cord program is now one of eight, and its amputation program is now one of four, CARF-accredited programs in the state of California—and the only ones in the greater Sacramento region, the hospital reports in a media release.

At the same time, CARF International granted re-accreditation status to Sutter Rehabilitation Institute’s stroke and brain injury programs.

“In order to receive these accreditations, we added the expertise needed to take care of and rehabilitate those patients who have endured amputations and spinal cord injuries, meeting the stringent CARF accreditation guidelines,” says Adora Matthews, MD, medical director of Sutter Rehabilitation Institute, in the release. “The CARF accreditations validate our clinical staff’s focus and commitment to give quality care to our patients.”

Sutter Rehabilitation Institute, part of the Northern California-based health system Sutter Health, is located on the Sutter Roseville Medical Center campus.
