The Paralyzed Veterans of America is slated to host its 4th annual Summit + EXPO on August 26 to 28.
The event is intended to bring together hundreds of doctors, nurses, occupational, recreational and physical therapists, social workers, and researchers to learn about the latest scientific achievements, treatments, and therapies in spinal cord injury/dysfunction (SCI/D), multiple sclerosis (MS), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) care.
A Paralyzed Veterans of America news release notes that highlights of this year’s Summit program include opening remarks by Al Kovach, national president, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Homer Townsend, executive director, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and a keynote speech by Carolyn Clancy, MD, Interim Health Undersecretary, Department of Veterans Affairs.

Additionally, the release notes that Advocacy/Clinical Excellence Awards will be presented to four recipients on the Tuesday morning after opening remarks. Paralyzed Veterans of America established the Advocacy/Clinical Excellence Award in 2013 to recognize clinicians for providing exceptional professional achievement, contributions, and advocacy for SCI/D and MS healthcare.
The release states that the EXPO will be open August 26 to 27 and will feature the latest in technology, medical devices, supplies, and other equipment designed to help individuals living with SCI live life to the fullest.
