The US Department of Labor’s Office (DOL) of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) recently announced the launch of the 2013 Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) database, a recruitment resource for employees seeking a diverse workforce that includes employees with disabilities. The launch is a collaborative effort between the ODEP and the US Department of Defense’s Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity.

According to a DOL news release, the database contains profiles of postsecondary students, graduates, and veterans with disabilities, each with a wide variety of academic backgrounds and degree levels. The release also notes that candidates looking to obtain summer employment and recent graduates seeking regular full-time positions have been interviewed and pre-screened by federal recruiters.

Kathy Martinez, assistant secretary of labor for disability employment policy, adds, “These students and recent graduates represent some of our nation’s top talent. They have proven themselves academically and are now eager to demonstrate their skills and gain experience in the workplace.”

The release also reports that more than 20 federal government agencies regularly use the WRP as a recruiting source. Federal employers can access the new database by clicking here.

Private sector employers can access the WRP by clicking here.
