OPTP, headquartered in Minneapolis, has added the three-volume Aches and Pains book set, written by the late physiotherapist Louis Gifford, to its product line.

A company news release notes that the book set, composed of lectures from Gifford’s teachings on physiotherapy and the biology of pain, are written to help clinicians who work with pain patients explain the science and philosophy of pain to their patients in a more understandable and lighthearted way.

Each separate book contains material based on three courses on pain that Gifford taught: The Clinical Biology of Aches and Pains, The Nerve Root, and Graded Exposure.

Contained in each book are clinical perspectives on pain and healing, as well as patient examples, diagrams, narratives, and explanations—all written in a lighthearted tone and style reflective of Gifford’s teaching, the release explains.
