The web site for the event, Promoting Occupational Therapy, notes that the event is an opportunity for social participation and support of global, charitable organization, UNICEF. The site adds that many registered volunteers are promoting the event by serving in a variety of ways including organizing online chats about how OT students can use social media to progress professional development and promote occupational therapy, offering free yoga classes, and working with OTA students to collect “comfort items,” and assemble care packages for veterans.
