AbleNet Inc, Roseville, Minn, introduces AbleNet Equals Pre K – 12 mathematics curriculum, which provides complete standards-based lessons for students with a range of disabilities, says a statement released by the company.

The curriculum includes prereadiness math skills such as cause and effect; fundamental math skills including numbers and operations, measurement and estimation; and higher-order math skills that involve data analysis, probability, spatial sense, geometry, algebra, and problem solving.

The curriculum contains up-to-date math pedagogy coupled with three levels of instructional strategies for students with mild, moderate, and severe disabilities, says the statement. Each lesson provides instructors with a comprehensive assessment, real-life problem solving math activities, manipulatives, worksheets, posters, workmats, and cards, says the company. AbleNet Equals is designed to teach students with disabilities the necessary strategies and elements needed to progress in mathematics.

AbleNet Equals will begin shipping orders at the end of September 2009, says the company.
