Magee Rehabilitation Hospital announces that it will host its 14th Annual Night of Champions fundraiser May 2. The event is slated to be held at Penns Landing Caterers and its proceeds will benefit Magee’s community and patient programs, including wheelchair sports, adjunctive therapies, the Patient Resource Center, and the Gaspar Center. A statement from the hospital reports that the evening will be comprised of a dinner, live and silent auctions, live entertainment, feature local sports celebrities, and more.
Jack Carroll, president and CEO, Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, designates the Night of Champions event as an opportunity for the hospital to raise funds for its patient and community programs, as well as recognize individuals who have made a different in the lives of others living with disabilities.
“Now in its 14th amazing year, this night makes a tremendous difference in the lives of our patients and their families—we couldn’t be more grateful,” Carroll says.
The news release reports that throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to participate in live and silent auctions, as well as live entertainment by The Reverb Brothers and appearances by Magee’s wheelchair sports teams.
The release also states that the evening will feature the presentation of the 2014 Champion in the Community Award to Fred Duling and BAYADA Home Health Care. Duling sustained a spinal cord injury during a fall at the Malta Boat Club on Philadelphia’s Boathouse Row in 2010. Following his injury, Duling became a Magee Champion, serving on the Patient Advisory and Walk It Out Event Committees, and in Magee’s Peer Mentor Program.
According to the release, BAYADA Home Health Care has been a longtime partner and supporter of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and individuals with disabilities. The organization offers nursing, rehabilitative, therapeutic, hospice, and assistive care services for individuals of all ages in the comfort of their homes.
